Foyle Down Syndrome Trust
Social Enterprise Project - Down Right Crafty
“Down Right Crafty”, aptly named by our young people, provides them with new, long term, opportunities, experiences, skills, expertise, training and employment in a real working business environment, supported and empowered to design, create, produce and sell their very own brand of crafts and cards to families, friends and the wider community.
Equipped with a state of the art printer/scanner/photocopier, guillotine, laminator, folder, creaser, heat press and much more, the social enterprise project improves access to and the range and quality of employment opportunities helping to remove barriers to achievement, job satisfaction and career choices.
The project is delivered by a Social Enterprise Co-ordinator who alongside a Support Worker ensure all our young people are proficiently trained to use the equipment safely and encouraged to work hard to ensure its success.
