Foyle Down Syndrome Trust has a whole host of activities arranged for the month of July for our young people aged 11+;
Wednesday 4th of July- Celebrate all things American from the 1700’s, 1800’s and 1900’s at the Ulster American Folk Parks Independence Day Celebrations. Featuring live Civil War reenactments, it should be an action packed day.
The Bus will depart from the FDST office at 10am and will return at 5pm. Please bring a packed lunch, rainwear and sensible shoes. The cost of the trip is £10
Thursday 5th-Friday 6th July- Overnight residential at Shrove Beach Campsite. Activities include Coastaleering, Bouldering, Archery, Beach Combing, Camp fire and kite flying.
The bus will depart from the office at 12pm on Thursday and return at 3pm on Friday. Please bring 2 pairs of sensible shoes, a change of clothes and Toiletries. The Cost of the residential is £20
Wednesday 18th July- The largest and most interactive dinosaur exhibition ever to come to Northern Ireland is on show at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, and the Trust are going to see it! ‘Age of the Dinosaur’, includes 7 full-scale animatronic dinosaurs, over 60 unique specimens from the Natural History Museum, London, and many objects from the Ulster Museum’s own extensive collections.
The bus will depart the office at 10am and will return at 6pm. Please bring a packed lunch and sensible shoes. The cost of the trip is £5
Friday 20th July- FDST will be taking a trip to the beautiful causeway Coast to enjoy the sights and take part in various outdoor activities. The bus will leave the office at 10am and return at 5pm. Please bring a packed lunch and some sensible shoes.
Monday 23rd-25th July- Residential at Life/Annalong Hostel in Co. Down for a couple of days of adventure filled outdoor activities
The bus will depart the office on Monday 23rd at 10am and will return Wednesday the 25th at 5pm. Please bring changes of clothes, sensible shoes and Toiletries. The cost of this trip is £20
Thursday 26th July- FDST will be competing in various events such as the Tug of war and Sumba Races at the Highland Games sports day in Greysteel. The bus will depart from the office at 10.30am and will return at 4pm
